Worried About Your Child's Hearing or Speech Development?
If your child seems to mishear, mispronounce words, or fall behind in speech and language, it's natural to feel unsure where to turn. Many families in this region have had to travel hours or wait months to find a specialist qualified to test a young child's hearing.
We are the only private practice hearing clinic serving Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby Counties equipped to assess children's hearing from age 3. We also offer basic ear health checks for ages 6 months and up. Catching hearing concerns early can make a real difference in your child's speech, learning, and confidence.
FOR ADULTS & FAMILY MEMBERS
Is It Difficult to Follow Conversations?
You may notice that it’s hard to talk with co-workers, friends and loved ones, feel isolated and not be taken seriously for struggling to follow along.
It can be very tiring to focus hard just to hear. You may even find that you avoid activities you used to enjoy because hearing takes a lot of effort.
Changes in your hearing can make it hard to want to engage with and enjoy the things that matter most to you. We don’t want you to navigate your hearing challenges alone.

Can you bill my insurance directly?
Only Medavie Blue Cross and Green Shield Canada allow us to direct bill for hearing aid purchases.
Most insurance plans require the individual to submit a paid copy of their invoice in order to obtain reimbursement. Hearing care services generally do not have sales tax and can often be claimed as a medical expense for income tax purposes.
Some third parties, such as Veterans Affairs Canada, Workers Compensation Board of Nova Scotia, Non-Insured Health Benefits, and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (Ontario) can also be direct billed for approved/eligible services.
Can you service my hearing aids even though I didn't purchase them from you?
We welcome the opportunity to service you and your hearing aids, if they are a brand that we have parts and software to be able to do so. Please call for more information so that we can determine how best to help you!
Is your clinic accessible?
Yes, there’s a flat surface from the parking lot through the front door and into the hearing booth, all within a reasonable distance for someone with limited mobility or using a wheelchair.
