What Can I Expect During a Hearing Test?
Otoscopy/Video Otoscopy
This is a special light or video camera that allow us to look into your ear canals and see if you have a build-up of earwax, as well as check the appearance of your eardrums. A video otoscope is a high quality camera that allows you to see for yourself what we see.

Middle Ear Assessment
A machine is used with varying sounds to check how well your eardrums move, if you have any pressure issues in your ears, etc.

Hearing Testing
With this test, you listen for a variety of soft sounds and words to check your hearing levels and understanding of words.

Results
Unlike a lot of medical procedures, you will find out the results of your test the same day. The Audiologist will explain what your overall hearing results mean and what they recommend from there.

Recommendations
Recommendations may include: seeing your doctor for a possible medical referral, a periodic hearing test to check your hearing every so often, hearing aids, hearing protection, etc.
